Ballroom dance class

Are you looking for a Latin, Swing or Ballroom dance class? These are some of the most frequently asked questions:
Group dance classes are held every Tuesday night at 7:00pm at American Legion Post 99 (2101 S McKenzie Street, Foley AL)
$10.00 per person includes the group class and social dance on Tuesday nights at 7pm.
No partner is necessary for group classes or private dance lessons. Rotations throughout the group class allows everyone to meet and dance with different people.
Classes often include Bachata, Cha Cha, East Coast Swing, Foxtrot, Rumba, Salsa, Tango, Two-Step, Waltz, and West Coast Swing. Other dances are taught by request. Generally, one dance is taught each month and could be a ballroom dance class, swing dance class or latin dance class.
Usually, only one dance is taught per class. This gives students the opportunity to focus on the rythm, timing and technique of one dance at a time.
Nina, Travis and Andy take suggestions from students to help them choose which dances will be taught during group classes. More popular social dances are often requested and taught more often. Some students prefer a swing dance class and others prefer a ballroom dance class. The instructors try to consider student preferences as much as possible.
Private dance lessons are offered for $40 at 6pm on Tuesdays at the American Legion Post 99 in Foley before the group dance class. Private lessons at other times and locations can be scheduled with any of the instructors and may be priced differently.
Regardless of the dance being taught, we work with beginners at every dance class. We recommend learning about and watching different dances to see which ones you might be most interested in learning. Steps and techniques you learn in one dance are also very common in many other dances.
Comfortable, casual clothing is perfect for dance class.
No special shoes are needed for dance classes. Many students choose to buy dance shoes after they’ve been taking classes for a while. Dance shoes can be purchased from Nina or she can give recommendations on types and brands.
Each student’s confidence is different, but dancers improve with practice. So, the more dance lessons you come to and the more you practice, the better you’ll be. Private dance lessons speed up knowledge and confidenceconsiderably!
A different dance is usually taught every month. Consider taking private lessons if you’re interested in learning different dances other than the ones being offered in the group class.
